PLANNING IN ADVANCE
If you have a medical condition, ensure you have the necessary paperwork ready:
Diabetic Condition: Bring a list of medications and your prescribing doctor's name.
High Blood Pressure: Have a medication list and your prescribing doctor's details.
Heart Condition: If you've had a heart attack or cardiovascular disease, bring a copy of your previous cardiac stress test.
Sleep Apnea: Provide a copy of your latest sleep test results, if available.
Medications: List all prescription and over-the-counter medicines, including dosage.
Contact Information: Keep names and phone numbers of your doctors handy.
MANAGING YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE
Stay on schedule with your prescribed blood-pressure medication.
Reduce caffeine and nicotine intake.
Limit salty foods and avoid adding salt to meals.
Cut back on coffee, sodas, energy drinks, and salty snacks before your exam.
DAY OF THE EXAM
Bring your prepared medical records, including medication list.
Remember to bring eyeglasses for vision tests and/or hearing aids.
Stay hydrated and arrive with a need to urinate.
